God of War 3 lead animator new comments about :

1. OPM review  & new autosave feature :

The OPM review was leaked way too early and we are quite sad about this. I would expect other reviews to come out closer to rlease date. If you guys don't want to spiol the game for yourselves then i would avoid that review. Just know that we got 9/10!

I just saw Geoff Keighley today at the office taping the GOW 3 Episode that he mentioned.

I hope you guys won't miss the CG, I know I don't miss it. The current cutscenes makes the game feel more unified and flows from story to action better imo.

I have no info on the GOW movie at all or when we will show more of the game. Probably the GT Tv episode I would pressume will be the next time.

The team is pretty tired after the final push so we will probably take a little rest but we are not done making games thats for sure.

All I can say about the weapons is that I am much more happier with them this time around. I animated the blade of Olympus, Barbarian Hammer, and Spear of destiny in GOW2 and I have to say that I like the weapons in GOW3 better. We listened to the fans and reviewers in regard to the weapons from GOW 2 and decided to make them better this time around. I would have to say that the best secondary weapon up to this point was the Zeus Guantlet from GOW PSP and we drew our inspiration from it for the Cestus. It seems people are happy with the Cestus as well so I am confident you guys will enjoy the rest as well.

Save game system is the same as GOW2, plus a new auto save feature for those of us that don't want to save all the time!

2. Realtime weapons change :

Oh almost forgot, let me make it clear, there are 2 ways to choose weapons: L1 + X. AND. Select the weapon you like by using the D-PAD just like the demo so please don't worry about the review. They did not discover the D-PAD switch and yes we do have message letting the player know when they acquire a new weapon.

Let me go over it once more: The controls are the same as the demo. In additon you can switch the weapons, such as blades and cestus, by simply pressing L1 + X in a cicle. If you don't want to cicle, simply select the weapon you want by pressing the correct direction on the D-PAD. The game is though but for GOW vets I would recommend choosing hard mode right away for a solid challenge.

Thanks for the responses guys. The whole L1+X situation will make sense once you play the game. The important thing is that you will be able to use the D-PAD to switch weapons as well. As far as I know there is only one way to get the 7-11 costume. The one nearm hasn't gotten the cups either but I'm sure there are on their way.

The reason why we are talking about L1+X:
1. Some of you are asking.
2. The OPM review made it sound as if L1+X is the only way to switch weapons in a cycle.

When I mentioned before that we did not change the controls from the demo I meant that in the final game you will be a ble to choose your weapon by using the D-PAD, just like the demo. In addition, you can also quickly switch weapons in a more fluid fashion in mid combat by using the L1+X move. Using this will cycle through weapons in order.

Demo

D-PAD= choose weapon

L1+X= Icarus wing moves

Final Game

D-PAD= choose weapon

L1+X= Cycle through weapons

2. Ingame cutscenes :

Most of the team is pretty hands off at this time, so the game is pretty much done. Many Journalists are already playing it and getting ready for the reviews. Most games are finished 1 to 2 months before release, there are many other steps that need to be taken before a gem can actually hit the shelves. This is why when games get delayed, they get delayed by months.

Para mis amigos de Latino America, GOW3 va a tener la opcion de jugarse en Espanol! Otros idiomas incluyen Frances, Portuges, Italiano, y Aleman.

Zeus voice from GOW2= Zeus voice from GOW3

The very first teaser was CG but that was not made by our team. We opted to push our in-game graphics to look as good as possible and decided to not do CG for this game.
